"This 2004 Chardonnay "Falveys Vineyard" (from 14 year old vines) has more in common with a fine premier cru white Burgundy from the village of Puligny than it does with a wine from New Zealand's cool Omaka Valley. At 5 years of age, we simply could not believe how fresh and lively this Chardonnay is. Its preservation may have something to due with the fact that the wine is sealed with a Stelvin closure (allows virtually no air inside the bottle). The color is a pale straw; very youthful in appearance. The bouquet displays fabulous ripeness in its fresh marzipan and honeysuckle aromatics. Flavors of fresh peach, Bartlett pear, lime, silica, flint and grilled hazelnuts can be found in this focused wine. Its medium bodied personality is magnificently balanced and precise. This is by all means a drinker; however there are absolutely no signs of decline in this gorgeous, well-preserved Chardonnay.  We could not believe how well it drinks. This is a wine to purchase by the caseload. Seriously - come and get it."
