  • 4 Stars Bob Campbell (NZ) – Plum, dark berry, chocolate, raspberry and a suggestion of fresh herb flavours. Bright and moderately flavoursome Pinot Noir with a distinctive personality. It offers good value at this price.

"Dark ruby-red colour with some garnet hues, paler on the rim.  The bouquet is full and rich with a softly deep core of ripe, savoury, dark-red berry fruits along with notes of game and cedar.  Dried herbs and lifted notes unfold, providing an ethereal perfume and adding savoury detail.  Medium-bodied, the palate is sweet and succulent with luscious flavours of savoury red berry fruits, entwined with dried herbs, undergrowth, game and cedar.  The fruit is underlined by fresh, lacy acidity and the palate core is guided by soft, integrating tannins.  The fine-textures and fresh acidity carry the wine to a long, soft, dry finish.  This is a sweet-fruited Pinot Noir with a good core, showing some savoury secondary development, but carried by fresh acidity and fine tannins."

"A beautifully maturing pinot, the complex bouquet shows dark berry, leather, earthy mushroom and mixed spice characters. The palate offers layers of fine texture and mature fruit flavours, beautifully structured by fine, chalky tannins. A rich savoury style, ideally suited to partner slow-cooked meat dishes."
